Mtwara gas plant on progress.

After discovering of gas in Mtwara2007 as the result of work done by foreign Exploration companies such as BG Group, Exxon Mobil, Statoil, Petro bras and the government of Tanzania are making all the efforts to make sure that in a period of seven years to come the plant of Mtwara will work effectively
The ministry of energy and minerals of Tanzania during 2012 signed an agreement of USD 1.225bn through a loan provided by the foreigners to finance construction of the pipeline to allow them starting to construct the pipeline from mtwara to Dar-es-Salaam http://www.ippmedia.com
The government officially started construction of the mnazi Bay to Dar es salaam gas pipeline project on Thursday November 8, 2012 approximated to be complete after seven years to come, www.thecitizen.co.tz in this year the various components of the gas pipeline project are taking place, the long term gas sales agreement to supply natural gas from the discovered gas field to a new pipeline was executed in September 2014. The company plans to produce up to 130mmcf/d of gas for delivery into the pipeline and hopes to increase that supply to 270mmcf/d within five years.

That pipe is of 24-30 inch size and 532km compared to that of Sangos it is expecting that it will have the capacity of transmitting the high level volume of the gas where by the gas will be supplied to society at any time and also the sales will be increased.
Currently the project has work positively; so far some of the initiatives of digging the stretch from Mtwara to Dar-es-salaam, and lowering down the pipe are on the progress also the receiving facilities of gas and greater water pressure on Bomba (hydostatic pressure test) are completed.

Extraction of gas is a major way of achieving development for any country so far a country can benefit by reducing the cost of imported gas from outside countries, accelerating the nation economic growth, also the increase of use natural gas for domestic and reduction of deforestation to many countries.

The Tanzanians also will benefit from that plant by getting employment opportunities since it is approximated that more than 10,000 people will be employed http://www.tpsftz.org  also development of infrastructures and industries in Tanzania
